When you create an account via Google Sign-In, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by Google. We also collect usage data including city searches, comparisons, and advisor conversations to provide and improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and personalize the Meridian service, maintain your search history, process payments through Stripe, send transactional emails (account creation, payment confirmations), and improve our AI-powered city data.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Neon (PostgreSQL) servers. Payment information is processed and stored by Stripe — we never store your credit card details. All connections use SSL/TLS encryption.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Google OAuth for authentication
Stripe for payment processing
Anthropic (Claude AI) for city data generation
Vercel for hosting and analytics
Neon for database hosting
Resend for transactional emails

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use Vercel Analytics which collects anonymous usage data without tracking cookies.

6. Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. You can also export your search history from the History page.

7. Data Retention

City data is cached for 90 days and refreshed automatically. Your account data is retained until you request deletion. If you cancel your subscription, your account remains accessible on the free tier.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of Meridian after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
